Trump Declares “The War Is Over” as Ceasefire Deal Holds in Israel

By Miller Green, Founder of NGA | 2 min read

President Donald Trump declares on Sunday that “the war is over” between Israel and Hamas as he traveled by Air Force One to Israel to oversee a historic ceasefire and hostage release agreement – a powerful display of American leadership on the world stage.

Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters that he believes the truce will hold because “people are tired” after centuries of fighting. “The war is over, okay. You understand that?” he said, adding that this moment marks a “very special time” for both Israel and neighboring Muslim nations celebrating their holidays simultaneously.

The ceasefire deal, which Trump helped broker, includes the release of dozens of Israeli hostages from Gaza in exchange for 250 Palestinian prisoners and 1,700 detainees, nearly two dozen of them children. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it “the beginning of a new path,” while cautioning that serious security challenges remain.

In Gaza, reports indicate at least 27 people have been killed in internal clashes between Hamas and a local clan since Israel’s military operations paused. At the same time, aid trucks have begun flowing into Gaza through the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

Trump’s visit comes just over two years after Hamas launched its deadly attack that killed more than 1,200 Israelis and took hundreds hostage. Crowds in Tel Aviv chanted “Thank you, Trump!” as his Middle East envoy addressed supporters this weekend – clear sign of gratitude for his role in brokering peace and prioritizing the return of hostages.

For many, this ceasefire represents a rare moment of hope in a region long defined by conflict. But more than that, it’s a reminder of what strong, decisive leadership can achieve. When America leads with strength and moral clarity, the world takes notice.

At Next Generation America, we believe that peace is earned through power, not weakness – and that America must never be afraid to lead. Trump’s actions show what happens when conviction replaces hesitation and when faith, strength, and freedom guide the path forward.

Next Generation America – Because our generation still believes in God, country, and the values that built America.
